The Problem Property Committee-

Participating members: Frank Wilson, Jeff Carpineta, Bill Barton, Patrick McHugh, Stanford Gable, Hugh McDermott

Focus: It has long been acknowledged that ‘Problem Properties’  are a major frustration for East Kensington residents. Problem Properties in all their forms undermine the quality of life in the neighborhood, discourage, and sour the experience for long term residents and new comers alike.

As a result of the 6 meetings of the Zoning Focus Group ( a properties related committe ) in the summer of 07′-  it was decided to pursue a solution- an effective process in stages…..

First Stage- Generate criteria for problem properties, create checklists to help identify- initial brainstorming on how to respond, schedule and organize street survey.  Second Stage- Generate data by surveying the EKNA area on foot and take reports/photos to index these properties. Third Stage- Review the type and number of problems, sort priorities- suggest new ways of reporting problems and creating accountability. 

This committee meets regularly and welcomes input at every stage of the process. Meeting dates/times are posted on thee event calender.
